Fifth wheel - Sid's Tips & Comments
There are many choices of RVs, available new
or used:
-
motorhomes
-
trailers
-
fifthwheels
-
fold-downs
-
slide-ins
Motorhomes are popular because of the ease of operation. An economical vehicle can
be towed behind for convenience (a toad), and driven once you reach
your destination.
If you already have a truck, you may prefer a trailer, or
fifth wheel. You only have one motor to maintain and
insure. If you should have a
mechanical problem with your truck, you still have your
fifthwheel in
a campground.

may be your next step. Membership includes an objective
guide for rating used and new RVs.
Their "green rating book" can sometimes be found in local
libraries.

RV Humor - a
true story about towing weight considerations:
Recently,
I rode my bicycle from the RV Resort to a nearby RV dealer.
When I jokingly asked the salesman what size fifthwheel I could pull with my bike,
he said "as a salesman I would say you could pull anything on
the lot, but our service manager might have a problem
installing the hitch".
