Breakdowns when fulltiming

In nearly 30 years of RV'ing , and most of that fulltiming,  we have always been able to stay in our rig while it is being repaired. A brief synopsis of where we stayed while having repairs done:

  • a couple of days in small garage in a village in Greece .

  • A GM dealer in Bathurst, Australia for a week while having an engine replaced. We had a key to the dealership and use of all employee facilities.

  • Camping World on several occasions while having work/installations done.

  • Dealer Facilities many times, (almost all have some hookups) and if not, we are self contained.

  • Mfg facilities several times for one to several nights.

  • A farm in New Zealand for several days while the farmer/mechanic repaired our gearbox.

  • Towed into a tiny village in the outback of Australia by a good Samaritan.  Parked and waited 2 days for a part.

  • Towed from an isolated scenic area in the outback of Australia to Noel Fullerton's (The Camel Man) Camel Ranch and spent  several days there. He had one of his hands drive us about a hundred miles to the nearest town to get the necessary parts for a repair and would not accept any payment.

  • We have also had occasions to make an unplanned stop at a Campground while we have had repairs done on our tow vehicle.
