The powder was great in 2004 at Winter Park, Colorado.   During my week of skiing, I noticed an increase  of helmets worn on the slopes.  Skiers of all ages, along with younger snowboarders, are wearing helmets.  I asked a few skiers how they liked wearing them, and did they find them comfortable?  They told me the fit was important, so shop around and try out many styles.  They found them lightweight, dry, and warm. The  consensus was  they shared a concern about collisions with other people.  I also spoke with a young snowboarder who worked at the Resort. She told me at the end of the day she was happy to have her helmet when she saw a new dent on it and was glad it wasn't on her head.  I think it would be comforting to know my head was protected against the unexpected.
